Megadyptes antipodes These large penguins (approx.60-70cm tall) are found only in New Zealand's southern waters. They nest amongst coastal vegetation, raising one or two chicks with the parent birds taking turns looking after the egg and chicks while the other forages for food. We have seen them swimming off Stewart Island, New Zealand's third island.
