Bob Olszewski built the original doll house as a gift for his young daughter Meredith.  At the time, he was raising a young family and working as a teacher in Oxnard, California.  To make ends meet, he created and sold additional doll houses.  This was the beginning of his career as a sculptor of miniatures.  He also sculpted a variety of tiny furnishings to make his house a home.  I was particularly impressed by the tiny figurines he created to sit on the hearth above the miniature fireplace.
