What do you teach? What grades do you teach?
ANSWER

I teach Computer Class, Website design to grades 7-12 at
Equity American School in Guatemala.

Have you ever wanted to be in the Navy like your dad?
ANSWER

Not really, except to learn how to fly helicopters.

choose this job?
ANSWER

Officially 1, but I used to teach at a summer
conservation/natural sciences camp (for 7 years). I
chose this job because I like kids.

Good. Burritos, Lasagna, chicken nuggets.

How big is your school? How big is your classroom?
ANSWER

Small. There are 50 kids in the high school. My
classroom is teenie tiny. Our school is an old
converted house and I think I'm in one of the broom
closets.

What do you have to say to someone who would want your
job because it is their dream?
ANSWER

Remember that you are doing it for the kids, and that the
example you set is in many ways more important than the
materials you teach - why? because it is an incredibly
influential job.

When you were a child what did you want to be? Why?
ANSWER

Never really had a "I want to be a fireman"
type idea when I was a kid. I knew I wanted to
travel, and that's what I'm doing.

ANSWER

Knowing that you can really light up a students interest
in something they never knew about before or thought they
would like.

It made me really realize the gift of patience. To
be a teacher, you need to be prepared. You have to
be patient.
