SETI@home

Want to search for aliens from the comfort of your computer? SETI@home is a new concept of supercomputing. It takes a lot of computer power to process data coming in from radio telescopes pointing at various stellar locations. So, rather then employing highly-expensive supercompters to analyze possible extraterrestrial signals, SETI@home was created. This is a project wherby computer users around the world can download a screensaver application that processes data from the Arecibo Radio Telescope by the workunit. When your computer is idle, SETI@home goes to work searches for possible artificial signals in the data that cannot be explained by terrestrial sources.

Imagiverse now has its own SETI@home team. We invite anyone to join and add to our result total. If you are under 13, please ask your parent or guardian first before downloading any kind of program, file or joining a group.
