Imagiverse Reconnaissance Orbiter

What better to explore Mars than with the Imagiverse Reconnaissance Orbiter!  Modelled after the real Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, the students constructed a spacecraft from basic materials.

The big antenna dish was constructed with papier-mâché while the solar panels which power the spacecraft were made from popsicle sticks and poster board.

To protect the spacecraft from the harsh conditions of space, some reflective gold foil was applied to the body to reflect the strong sunlight that shines on it.

Diagrams and pictures of the real spacecraft were used as guidelines in the building process.
