In these samples of buildings by architect Antoni Gaudí, you can get a feel for the uniqueness of his work. Growing up in Barcelona as a teenager in the 1960s, I had the feeling that much of the 1960s art movement was inspired by Gaudí. Note the flowery designs and "peace symbols" on the walls of Casa Batlló. At that time, I thought these buildings were modern. In fact, they were "modern"... they were representative of the Art Modernisme or Art Nouveau of the early 1900s.

La Pedrera (the quarry) also called Casa Milŕ is an apartment building in Barcelona.
Casa Batlló was a home in downtown Barcelona on Paseo de Gracia (Passeig de Grŕcia).
