In the winter it gets very, very cold.  The air temperature combined with the wind chill makes it imperative to wear hats, scarves, and gloves for any venturing into the cold air.  You find yourself running from car to house, car to work, car to stores.  Winter is a time of contemplation, wood fires, hot soup, reading, warm fuzzy slippers and quietude.
