7th Grade Student

What is your earliest childhood memory?  About how old were you?

I remember going to the park with my dad.  He put me on a horizontal bar, and I was crying.

What would you like to be when you grow up?

I want to be a doctor.  Because science is interesting.

What grade are you in and what are your favorite subjects in school?

I'm in grade 7.  I like many subjects.  But my favorite one is math.  I feel fun to do the math questions.

What are your most difficult or most boring?

I don’t like Chinese very much.  It's difficult and boring.  Because I can't remember what the Chinese teacher say.  So, I always get bad scores.

Was it difficult to learn English?  How many languages do you speak?

Well, learning English is funny, but remembering new words are difficult.

I can speak two languages English and Chinese.

What do you like to do outside of school?

I like playing the piano. It helps me to relax from school stress.

In your school career so far, what was the most educational moment you can remember?

To participate in UNESCO school projects.  It is special and different.

What was your favorite school field trip or school activity up to this point?

To I-Lan.  We saw a show with two clowns.  They made figures out of balloons, and they gave me one.  Then, we learned about a small boy from Africa.  I gave the balloon to the African boy.  That little boy was very happy!

Did you experience any field trips that you did not like?  If so, why?

Every trip was very interesting for me.

What do your parents think of the interviews you have done for Dr. Kim Yang's project?

First, my mom thought I was joking and didn’t believe it.  But later, she said it’s really cool.

Do you have a favorite interview so far?  If so, who?

The interview with a woman in Iran.  She is a potter.  She answered the questions very cool.  She is a cool person for me.

What is your favorite quote?  Who said it?  Why is it your favorite?

My favorite quote is – Happy is important!

That is what my mom says to me.  Because, sometimes I am sad, she would always tell me this sentence to make me happy.
